To answer: What item do you beleive you can incorporate form this class into your professional or personal life and how will you ensure that you achieve the goal of incorporating it?
My attempted answer: I would like to use a few of the Web 2.0 tools that we learned about in this course to keep my extended family up-to-date on my little family unit's endeavors and goings-on as we continue to get transferred around the country (possible around the world). I could see using blogging and Flikr to keep our folks updated on birthdays and the like. The blog would allow us to write in-depth items and would also allow for comments/questions from our audience. The same would go for Flikr. We would be uploading all of our photos from our adventures and activities (and then small mishaps like harddrive crashes might not completely wipe away an entire 'round-the-world trip's worth of photos!).
Implementing the creation of a personal blog and Flikr site wouldn't be difficult, the maintaining and upkeep of the sites would be where we would probably fall off. I believe that my wife's facebook page gets an update on a monthly basis or so and mine may get an update (and even glance from me) on a 1/4ly basis! So we'd have to get better at that for it to work.
I would think that if we do get stationed overseas, we will use several of the tools that I have touched during this cohort. I'd already played with Skype a little bit prior to beginning this adventure, but things like Eyejot (we just recorded one today for the purpose of wishing my folks a Happy Anniversary!), blogging, google sites and, it pains me to admit, Twitter would all assist us in staying connected to our families.
As usual, I will add something about my inability to implement most of these things in my current working environment. I do, however, see how they can be of benefit and will attempt to make full use of them in my next profession.
